Some Gorgeous Accident, Imaginary Lines (EP)

Imaginary Lines is the first Number Line Records release from Some Gorgeous Accident, a California-based dream-pop and shoegaze project named after a Blueboy EP. D, the artist behind Some Gorgeous Accident, describes the making of Imaginary Lines as a process influenced by his tendency to analyze sound textures. He calls the resulting EP an “exploration in soundscapes,” a collection comprised of six tracks drenched in reverb and full of delays, tremolos, and feedback. Some Gorgeous Accident was initially created by D. as a means of keeping in touch with friends in Manila, where he was originally based. On Imaginary Lines, D. collaborates with several Manila indie-pop bands, including labelmates Outerhope and Slow Hello, as well as the Wentletraps, Archaster, Carnival Park, and Sao Paolo, Brazil’s Candy Apple Pops.

“Luminescence,” the final track from Imaginary Lines, has been described as “a fine masterpiece of shoegaze-dreampop” (4imaginaryboys) and “perfect (for those who enjoy) the ethereal sound of the Radio Dept. and the Mary Onettes” (indie.fference).
